Following hundreds of runs from opener KL Rahul and middle-order batsmen Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja to crush the West Indies and put the hosts in control of the first test in Ahmedabad on Friday, India amassed 448 for five.
India finished day two with a commanding first innings lead of 286 thanks to a 206-run partnership between Jurel and Jadeja for the fifth wicket, which included Jurel’s 125, his first Test century.
Jadeja will return on 104 on Saturday, with Washington Sundar on nine at the other end. Jadeja blasted five sixes in his fluid knock.
When Shubman Gill (50) and Rahul (100) returned on day two, India accelerated after sweeping away the West Indies for 162 on Thursday.
