According to Dr. Jamal Nasir, Punjab’s interim health minister, infections are being spread by the creams and injections used in beauty salons to whiten skin.
The minister claimed in an interview with Geo News that a number of salons have created skin-lightening lotions on their own, but these products are not approved by the relevant authorities.
“By giving clients whitening injections, numerous beauty salons are making millions of rupees. According to him, these injections are not authorized for importation into Pakistan and are not registered there either.
