In an official statement, the Duke disclosed that Prince Harry would not be able to visit his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, when he returns to the UK to commemorate the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.
A insider hinted that Queen Camilla might have been the true cause for the father-son meeting’s cancellation, despite Charles’ busy schedule being cited as the official explanation.
The Express claims that Charles informed Harry that the Queen Consort “must be present” if they met, which may have been a deal-breaker for the Duke. Charles told Harry this before of Harry’s trip in the UK.
“There hasn’t been a meeting of minds just yet about whether there will be time to meet on the 8th,” a source said prior to Harry’s arrival.
“Aides are adamant that the Queen will be present if a meeting were to take place tomorrow at Buckingham Palace, which could potentially cause conflict,” they continued.
“In fact, there have been two possible meeting locations discussed,” the person went on. “One for Clarence House this evening, and another for tomorrow.”
Although an agreement for either meeting hasn’t been reached yet, talks are still going on while Harry is here to see if anything can be arranged for tomorrow.
