Israel says won’t yield to Hamas demands in truce talks

In a statement released by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel accused Hamas on Tuesday of making “delusional” demands in indirect talks on a Gaza truce, claiming that these demonstrated the Palestinian combatants’ lack of sincerity in reaching a settlement.

Hamas has attempted to use any ceasefire in the negotiations mediated by Qatar and Egypt to demand an end to the conflict and the evacuation of Israeli forces. Israel dismisses this, stating that it will continue its efforts to destroy Hamas.
