Comparing it to Iran’s military pressure through regional proxies, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged on Monday that China and Qatar were launching a political effort to isolate Israel.
He acknowledged to U.S. lawmakers that Israel is becoming more isolated internationally and might have to rely on its own resources, both militarily and economically.
Speaking to a bipartisan group of 250 U.S. lawmakers in Jerusalem, Netanyahu emphasized that Republicans and Democrats are still important friends but warned that “an active effort” is being made to erode that support.
Comparing the campaign to a “political blockade,” he charged that China and Qatar were planning attacks on Israel’s legitimacy on U.S. and European social media platforms.
