The incident occurred in the town of Sderot, on the Gaza border, from which the Associated Press has broadcast a nearly continuous live image of the northern Gaza skyline throughout the conflict.
An order signed by the minister was distributed on Tuesday morning by representatives of the Communications Ministry.
A verbal order to cease broadcasting was issued last Thursday, but the Associated Press refused to comply.
In response to the incident, the Associated Press stated that it “strongly condemns the actions of the Israeli authorities to shut off our historic live.
