The teenager from Oswaldtwistle, a town close to Blackburn in Lancashire, disappeared the morning after a rave on June 17 and has been missing in Tenerife ever since.
Volunteers were asked to join a fresh search on Saturday in the Masca area, which is close to his last known location, by the Civil Guard.
News has now received confirmation that the search is over. Although they have not released an update, police are continuing their investigation and may potentially conduct searches in the southern part of the island.
A small group of 30 to 40 volunteers showed up on Saturday to assist rescue operations.
Mr. Slater, 19, was last seen late on June 16 at Papayago, a nightclub hosting the NRG festival’s conclusion. He had been vacationing on the Spanish island with pals.
Following the event, he got into a car with two males who, according to police on Saturday, are “not relevant” to the case and they drove to a modest Airbnb in Masca.
His last known location was the island’s Rural de Teno Park in the north, almost an 11-hour trek from his lodging.
