With the release of Never You, a song from the upcoming film musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, Jennifer Lopez is venturing into new musical terrain.
John Kander wrote the tune, which Lakeshore Records will release exclusively through People on Thursday, September 18.
Although Never You was first composed in 1990, when the musical was still in its early phases of development, this is its first formal, well-known appearance in a movie and soundtrack.
In Bill Condon’s adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway play, Lopez sings the ballad at a crucial point.
The picture, which also stars Diego Luna and Tonatiuh, is directed by the Oscar-winning director, who is most known for Beauty and the Beast (2017) and Chicago.
