Jordan, who helped Newey get out of his Red Bull chief technology officer contract early in April, said to Sport, “I am not prepared to answer – I will not be forthcoming in any shape or form.”
On September 10, Aston Martin is planning to hold a press conference at which they will likely reveal that Newey has joined the team.
In a Tuesday interview with Bloomberg, team owner Lawrence Stroll stated, “Adrian and I have been talking not only for months, but actually for years.”
Based on his past performance and background, Adrian is without a doubt the most gifted and talented person in Formula One.
“Adrian has been linked to many teams and would be an asset to any team,” an Aston Martin representative stated, “but we don’t have anything to announce.”
Considered the best F1 designer of all time, Newey, 65, has contributed to 12 driver championships and 13 constructor titles for Red Bull, McLaren, and Williams since 1991.
A new wind tunnel at the Silverstone location is set to go online. Aston Martin moved into a new plant last year. In August, Newey was given a behind-closed tour of the location.
