ISLAMABAD: An official announcement on Friday stated that President Asif Ali Zardari has confirmed Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim’s appointment as the interim chief justice (CJ) of the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
The nomination of Justice Ibrahim as the PHC’s acting chief justice was announced in a notification, which also said that the senior-most judge’s term will begin on the day of swearing-in.
It concluded that the senior judge will serve as an acting chief justice (CJ) and then be promoted to the position of permanent PHC chief justice following the parliamentary and judiciary bodies’ approval.
Another event was the notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice that six more judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) will become permanent after President Zardari’s consent.
