Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the supremo of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), stated on Friday that his party supports the constitutional change in order to implement judicial reforms.
Rehman stated, “We had given proposals in line with the judicial reforms,” while addressing the media in Multan. The government representatives suggested that the measures be withdrawn in accordance with the judges’ ages.
“I requested that they present the draft to us. Rehman claimed that the administration was not prepared to provide us with the draft.
“We oppose changing the constitution to take any personality into account. Islamabad is in a dire state. We believe that rather than focusing on personality, it would be wiser to pursue a constitutional amendment that takes judicial reforms into account.
