Emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has indicated that his party will not participate in the upcoming elections for the top political positions of president, prime minister, and speaker of the National Assembly (NA), citing significant doubts about the 2024 election results.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad on Thursday, the preacher stated that his politico-religious party would sit in opposition and that its lawmakers would abstain from voting in the next elections in the relevant assemblies.
When asked about the JUI-F’s strategy for a protest movement, he replied, “Wait for it.” We’ll be representing the nation soon.”
“I haven’t met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Nawaz Sharif yet. A team came yesterday, comprising leaders of the PML-N, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).”
“We had a pleasant conservation as we were already very frank with them,” the senior politician answered another question regarding dialogues with major parties that formed a strong coalition to rule the country.
