ISLAMABAD: According to reliable sources, Justice Babar Sattar formally notified Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) about the “meddling” in judicial matters by the security apparatus on Tuesday.
Justice Sattar claimed in a “letter” to IHC CJ Farooq that he received messages from high-ranking security establishment officials requesting that he “back-off” from a thorough examination of the type and extent of surveillance in the matter of the audio leak.
In compliance with the IHC’s suggestions to discourage tampering, Justice Sattar reported the “incident of meddling”.
The judges of the International Humanitarian Court (IHC) unanimously proposed a “contempt proceeding” against any interference in court matters, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s April 3 directive.
