KARACHI: Due to the high-risk tides, the city administration on Saturday completely banned swimming, bathing, diving, and wading on the beaches and coastlines inside the boundaries of the Karachi Division.
The ban took effect immediately upon the request of Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi and ran from June 28 to July 27.
According to a notice released by the Commissioner Karachi Division, high tides and choppy seas have made the city’s beaches dangerous. Those who visit the shorelines for swimming and bathing may be at risk because of this.
Due to choppy waves, Karachi restricts beachgoers from swimming for a month.
Notably, on June 20, 2024, a drowning event was reported at the city’s Hawks
The local government has therefore taken action to address any unfortunate drowning incidents in the future and safeguard the public’s priceless lives.
Additionally, the authority to file complaints on such instances has been granted to the Station House Officers (SHOs) of the relevant police stations and agencies.
