Kieron Pollard’s unbeaten 28-ball 48 and Irfan Khan’s 22-ball 27 propelled the Karachi Kings to 165-5 in the 15th match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Karachi on Wednesday.
After being put in to bat, the Kings lost five wickets for 89 runs, although Pollard and Irfan Khan both showed resistance with the bat.
Shan Masood played a cautious 30-ball 27, while Leus du Plooy (24 off 15) looked promising for a spell. However, Hunain Shah removed Masood, while Salman removed du Plooy.
Previously, Islamabad United, presently fifth in the points standings, will try to rebound from a spate of defeats. They have only won one of their four games so far.
Karachi Kings, on the other hand, enter the game in superior shape. They have played three matches, winning two and losing one, and are now ranked third in the rankings.
Shadab Khan, Islamabad United’s captain, will be hoping to lead his club to victory and move up the points table. They will need to deliver a good effort against a confident Karachi Kings team.
