KARACHI: On Friday, police in Karachi’s Landhi neighborhood apprehended a gang of wanted dacoits who had a history of robbing people who were taking money out of banks.
According to Korangi Toheed Rehman, a senior superintendent of police (SSP), the apprehended group has admitted to multiple events that occurred throughout the city.
According to Rehman, the group had 18 pilfered cell phones, cash, and firearms that the police had found. He also mentioned how active the organization was in Korangi, Sharea Faisal, Shah Latif, Sohrab Goth, and Saddar.
The SSP added that the preliminary inquiry showed the accused had also plundered dozens of stores.
“A CCTV footage showed the suspects stealing Rs. 35,000 from the store of a well-known biryani vendor in Landhi No. 6 after they had broken in.”
On the sixth day of Eid ul Fitr, the group also stole a citizen in Shah Faisal out of Rs 170,000. In addition, the suspects robbed a guy in Quaidabad 1.5 months ago of Rs300,000, and last month they robbed a general store in Akhtar Colony of Rs 168,000.
