According to the Karachi Wholesale Grocers Association, the biggest wholesale market in the nation would remain closed on Saturday, August 31, due to the ongoing conflict over the government’s withholding tax policies.
This walkout coincides with an urgent meeting that traders, importers, and exporters called at Jodia Bazaar today to voice their mounting dissatisfaction with the tax policies.
The two days of disruption in the nation’s supply of goods are anticipated to result from the shutdown, which falls on Sunday, the weekly holiday. As a result, the supply chain is expected to be significantly impacted.
The association’s Rauf Ibrahim has announced that the strike will be observed in all markets connected to wholesale grocers.
