Katy Perry recently took her relationship with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to the next level—on a diplomatic trip to Japan.
The couple met with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, for a special lunch. Kishida shared a photo of the two couples in front of a Christmas tree, noting that the meeting was more than just a casual visit.
“During his time as prime minister, we met multiple times and worked together on the ‘Japan-Canada Action Plan,’” Kishida wrote. “I’m delighted our friendship continues in this way.”
In the photo, 41-year-old Perry looked chic in a khaki mini skirt and matching jacket. Trudeau, 53, wore a grey suit with a light-blue shirt. Trudeau shared the photo on X, writing, “Great to see you… Katy and I were so glad to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and dedication to a better future for everyone.”
The visit coincided with Perry’s Lifetimes tour. The couple also enjoyed sumo wrestling and spent more quality time with the Kishidas.
This trip is significant for the couple, who sparked romance rumors in July after Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom. Although they’ve appeared together publicly before, this is the first time Trudeau acknowledged their relationship on social media.
The Japan visit highlights Perry’s growing presence in international events and the couple’s shared interest in cultural and diplomatic engagements. Their outings continue to attract global attention, blending entertainment and politics in a unique way.
