The “monarchy is in a state of crisis,” and King Charles of Britain has been informed that his abdication would preserve it.
According to GB News, former Labour MP Stephen Pound suggested that King Charles “follow suit” after Queen Margrethe abdicated to allow the monarchy to undergo reform.

“The monarchy is in a state of crisis,” he declared. These have been the worst years ever. Would it be fantastic if King Charles declared, “I believe it’s time for a change of pace”?
“I believe it would be an amazing thing. He would keep the monarchy intact.
Stephen Pound continued, “Let’s give them a second chance. Let’s get going.
Following the announcement on Sunday that she would abdicate on January 14 and hand the throne over to her son Crown Prince Frederik, King Charles is facing an increasing number of calls to step down. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is the longest-serving queen in Europe.

The King should follow Denmark’s lead and “tell us when he’ll abdicate,” according to British novelist Simon Jenkins, who made this same recommendation in an earlier opinion piece for The Guardian.
