Following her abdication and mounting calls for him to succeed her, Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II received a heartfelt tribute from Britain’s King Charles.
“I pay tribute to the many years of service of your mother, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II,” says King Charles in a special greeting to King Frederik X and Queen Mary, the future monarchs of Denmark.

“And cherish the many trips between our nations, such as our 2012 trip to Copenhagen and Elsinore.”
Rebecca English, a royal specialist, claims that following Queen Margrethe’s abdication, King Charles also wrote her a confidential letter.
Sunday marked the ascension of Denmark’s King Frederik X to the throne following the abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe.

King Charles of Britain has also been encouraged to abdicate and give the kingdom to Prince William, his elder son and heir apparent.
