KARACHI: According to authorities, Aniqa Saeed, a female student at the University of Karachi, died on Friday after being hit by a university bus on campus.
According to officials, the unfortunate tragedy happened as Saeed, a second-year student in the Department of Social Work, was getting off the bus. After being taken to the hospital in a hurry, she was pronounced dead.
While the victim’s family chose not to seek legal action, police said that the bus driver had been placed under arrest.
As a result of the incident, students on campus staged a protest against the university administration, calling for increased accountability and safety in transportation.
