According to The News on Saturday, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, the senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court, stated that he never took ownership of his property in Dubai because the project was never completed because of the city’s real estate market downturn.
This development follows the revelation of the identities of up to 17,000 Pakistanis who held properties in the city valued at approximately $11 billion, as part of the six-month “Dubai Unlocked” investigation effort, which involved reporters from 74 media sites in 58 countries.
The Pakistanis named in the property leaks include Sher Afzal Marwat, Senator Faisal Vawda, Farah Gogi, Hussain Nawaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari’s three children, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s wife, Sharjeel Memon, and family members.
The information also revealed Justice Mansoor’s identity as the owner of a home in Dubai’s central Jabal Ali neighborhood’s Maison Residence Collection.
The News contacted the Puisne judge to find out if he was still the owner of the land. It was also inquired of him whether he still owned the property and whether he used it himself or rented it out.
