With his first-ever night triumph, the 29-year-old world champion defeated Gerwyn Price 6-2, Rob Cross 6-3, and Michael Smith 6-3 to move up to second place in the standings.
Michael van Gerwen’s advantage at the top of the rankings was reduced to three points by Humphries’ victory.
For the second week in a row, Van Gerwen was eliminated in the quarterfinals after falling to Cross 6-2.
In the final leg of his quarterfinal loss against Smith, two-time world champion Peter Wright missed two match darts, meaning the Scot is still without a victory this year.
After winning the first night in Cardiff, Smith defeated 17-year-old Luke Littler in his semifinal match but fell short against that man.
Luke Humphries wins the night in Premier League darts for the first time.
In Brighton, Luke Humphries won the sixth round of the Premier League Darts with three outstanding performances.
