The royal family of Britain has made a significant announcement just one day after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s visit to Jamaica incited outrage.
The palace announced that nominations for the Entente Littéraire Prize, a new UK-France literary award for authors of young adult literature, are now being accepted on X, the former Twitter platform, along with a picture of Queen Camilla.
The press release states: “We are happy to announce that the Entente Littéraire Prize (Prix de l’Entente Littéraire), a new literary award for young adult authors in the UK and France, is now accepting submissions.”
As part of the festivities to commemorate the beginning of the submission period, the French Embassy in London and the British Embassy in Paris will have parties on January 23 to officially open the submission window.

The Entente Littéraire Prize was introduced in September 2023 as part of the King and Queen’s State visit to France. It was inspired by the Entente Cordiale, a 1904 accord that strengthened ties between the governments of the UK and France.
The book’s authors will each get an equal portion of the €8,000 prize.
