According to Sport, Anderson’s remarks last month regarding a return to white-ball cricket piqued the curiosity of top leaders from at least one MLC side.
The 42-year-old’s interest in taking part in the third T20 competition in the US next year is now being investigated by the unidentified franchise.
Anderson could make over £135,000 during his brief stay in MLC, which attracted some well-known players for the 2024 version.
The most well-known of them was Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, who signed a hefty contract with the San Francisco Unicorns that runs through 2027.
Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Travis Head—all fellow Australians—were members of the Ricky Ponting-coached Washington Freedom squad that took first place in the competition this year.
After the first Test match against the West Indies at Lord’s in July, Anderson, who ended with 704 Test wickets, announced his retirement from international cricket.
He signed a central contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) at the beginning of September and joined the England backroom team immediately.
Last week, Anderson said that he will remain England’s fast-bowling coach for the October Test series against Pakistan and that he would be joining the team for their December trip to New Zealand.
