The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) had the global premiere of the documentary film The Last of the Sea Women, which was produced by Malala Yousafzai’s Extracurricular and produced by Apple Original Films. On October 11, the movie will make its global premiere on Apple TV+.
The film’s director Sue Kim, subjects Lee Hee Soon and Jang Soon Duk, editor Erin Casper, cinematographer Iris Ng, and producer Yousafzai were present for the screening.
Yousafzai sent a press release and said, “It was an incredible day to experience the premiere of The Last of the Sea Women at TIFF — the first-ever film from my production company Extracurricular.” “It was a pleasure to commemorate this accomplishment alongside the incredible, predominately female cast and director Sue Kim.
