Erling Haaland missed a clear sitter, leaving Manchester City behind, and it was Foden who made the difference and turned the tide of play in the second half.
He gave a tremendous performance throughout City’s 3-1 triumph. He never looked to tire physically, and altogether, he gave off the impression of a player who is performing at the highest level possible.
Foden is not just an incredibly skilled and physically fit football player, but he is also a brilliantly intellectual one, as he demonstrated against Manchester United.
By that, I mean knowing when to pass, shoot, and dribble. I also mean knowing when to move into space and when to maintain his breadth.
Though his position for City and England is up for question, it really doesn’t matter because of how comfortable he is playing across the line, to the left or right, or as Pep Guardiola’s number 10 behind Erling Haaland when Kevin de Bruyne isn’t playing.
