We lost Maria Branyas. Her family posted on her social network X account that “she died as she wished: in her sleep, peacefully, and without pain.”
They remarked, “We will always remember her for her kindness and advice.”
In a message on Tuesday, Branyas—who had spent the previous 20 years living in the Santa Maria del Tura nursing home in the northeastern Spanish town of Olot—advised that she felt “weak”.
“The moment is drawing nigh. I don’t like tears, so don’t cry. More importantly, don’t suffer for me. “I will be content wherever I go,” she wrote to the family-run account.
