Mariah Carey has officially discussed Muni Long’s rendition of her song “We Belong Together,” which was released in 2005.
The 56-year-old American singer-songwriter and record producer discussed her well-known response to Long’s performance of her popular song We Belong Together, which she sang as a tribute at the iHeartRadio Music Awards 2025, in an interview with GQ that was released on Tuesday, September 23.
“I didn’t even hear the cover,” Carey said in response to a question about her opinion of the rendition of her iconic song. I was unaware that it had occurred. Nobody informed me.
“Muni Long, at iHeartRadio?” the interviewer repeated impatiently after becoming perplexed by her negative response.
