When Chelsea hosts Barcelona, the reigning champions, at Stamford Bridge on Saturday for the second leg of their Women’s Champions League semi-final, captain Millie Bright is aware of the task before of her team.
Last week, the Blues surprised Barcelona by winning 1-0 at home in a competitive match, becoming the first team to defeat the Catalans in five years. Erin Cuthbert’s goal in the first half of the match did the trick.
“We know it’s a fantastic opponent; we know the storm that’s about to come, and we have a lot of respect for them,” Bright told the news.
“We’re still in the half. The ladies’ performance and outcome were excellent [in Spain], but we also know it.
