ISLAMABAD: Talal Chaudhry, the state minister for interior affairs, apologized on Friday for the attack on journalists at the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad. The attack occurred a day earlier when police broke in and battered a number of journalists.
Chaudhry promised the media community at a media conference in Islamabad that the government will carry out all of the requests made by the journalists.
“We will address the issue in accordance with the guidelines of the press club and journalist organisations to ensure that such incidents do not happen again,” he stated.
The problem started when the Awami Action Committee organized a protest and the Islamabad police raided the NPC.
