A clash of styles is expected in the Australian Open final between world number Aryna Sablalenka and fifth seed Elena Rybakina. The two players have explosive power, and both are able to serve with deadly accuracy. However, their styles could not be any more different. The case of Sabalenka Sabalenka is a hard court specialist, as her Melbourne record proves. It is no surprise that she has two of four Grand Slam titles in singles here. She's widely regarded as the favourite. Belarusian aggressiveness can demolish even the best-prepared defenders as demonstrated by her win over Elina Svitolina in their semi-final. Rybakina, however, requires more than just raw strength to defeat her. Sabalenka is working on improving her variety, playing forward towards the net and utilizing deft touch to overcome opponents. Her shots are flat, heavy and deep. Sabalenka acknowledged that the material was not an easy one to work with. Sabalenka has a slight advantage over Rybakina in the past, having won eight out of 14 matches, including 2023's Australian Open final. Sabalenka lost their most recent meeting, at the WTA Finals. Pat Cash, the 1987 Wimbledon winner, said: "Sabalenka is a little more powerful and can force Rybakina to areas that she does not want to be. But it's close." The pace of the two players will be fascinating to watch. Sabalenka has always been a consistent player. Sabalenka has been to seven straight major hard court finals. She is only Steffigraf and Martina Hingis who have achieved this feat. Four years in a row, she has reached the Australian Open Finals. This shows her dominance. She acknowledges that she needs to convert consistency into trophy wins. The last year taught me a lot. "I'm prepared to fight this season with all I have," said she. Rybakina: The Case for Rybakina Rybakina is often overlooked because of her calm and understated manner. In this tournament, the 26-year old Kazakh reminded her fans of how good she is. She has not been able to achieve the same heights as she did in 2022. She hasn't played in a Grand Slam since she lost to Sabalenka three years ago. Rybakina's results might not match those of top players such as Sabalenka or Iga Swiatek. Coco Gauff has also steadily improved her game throughout the last two weeks. She said, "The serve may not work the way I would like it to. I have to concentrate on other aspects of my game." I'm trying my best to remain calm and think during the game. "So far it seems to be working." Sabalenka could have a tough time coping with Rybakina if she loses her composure. This final is unpredictable because of her ability to remain calm under pressure. Who will blink first? The Australian Open final may come down to the mental as well as the physical strength of both players. Sabalenka is a player with experience, firepower and calmness. Rybakina provides consistency and calm. Tennis fans should expect an exciting, high-octane match.
Power vs Power: Will Rybakina or Sabalenka Blink First in the Australian Open Final?

Marius Borg Høiby Arrested Before Trial Marius Borg Høiby, 29, the son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of assault. This marks the fourth time he has been detained by police in the past 18 months. Authorities say the new allegations involve wielding a knife and violating a restraining order. The Oslo District Court remanded him in custody for four weeks, citing a risk of reoffending. He faces 38 charges in total, including rape, abuse, restraining order violations, marijuana possession, and speeding. History of Arrests and Allegations Since August 2024, Høiby has been arrested multiple times, initially for assaulting a woman he had been in a relationship with. He has denied the most serious charges but admitted to some minor ones. Police initially allowed him brief custody periods, but the extended remand at the start of his trial marks a significant change in approach. Høiby has also spoken about struggling with several mental disorders and substance abuse, which may have contributed to his previous offenses. Impact on the Royal Family Although Marius is not officially part of the royal family, he is Crown Prince Haakon’s stepson. The trial has sparked public scrutiny of the royal household. Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s previous connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein from 2011 to 2014 have also resurfaced, adding to public concern. Mette-Marit admitted to showing "poor judgement" and expressed sympathy for Epstein’s victims. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre acknowledged her admission but issued implicit criticism, noting the unusual nature of her contact with Epstein. Historian Ole-Jørgen Schulsrud-Hansen highlighted questions about the royal advisers’ role, stating, "Where are the counsellors, the royal court, and the foreign office?" Royal Household Responds The royal family has tried to distance itself from the trial. Crown Prince Haakon publicly expressed sympathy to the women involved and their families, calling it "a difficult time for many of you." Meanwhile, the princess continues her duties as a public figure and patron of several organizations, despite facing personal health challenges, including pulmonary fibrosis.

The 68th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles offered a mix of unforgettable performances, surprising wins, and quirky moments. From legendary stars making a comeback to rising artists stealing the show, music lovers were treated to a night full of highs and lows. Cher’s Chaotic Comeback Cher returned to the Grammys for the first time in 18 years to receive a lifetime achievement award and present Record of the Year. Her appearance was heartfelt but a bit messy. She delivered a moving speech about following your dreams but accidentally walked off before announcing the nominees. When she returned, she mistakenly said Luther Vandross had won. She quickly clarified that she meant Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” which samples the late soul singer. Host Trevor Noah laughed it off, saying, “I love live television.” Opening Rock Performance by Bruno Mars and Rosé The ceremony kicked off with a high-energy performance of “APT” by Bruno Mars and Rosé. Despite being up for several awards, the song didn’t win any. Noah explained that the track was inspired by a popular South Korean drinking game. He joked that Americans now had their own version: “Every time you turn on the news, you drink.” Pharrell Williams Receives Global Impact Award Pharrell Williams, the mastermind behind hits like “Milkshake” and “Happy,” earned the Grammys Global Impact Award. Dressed in a pink tux, he dedicated the award to everyone who believes in the power of Black music. He admitted performing a montage of his hits felt “like listening to your voicemail on loudspeaker.” Yungblud Wins Best Rock Performance British singer Yungblud won Best Rock Performance for his live rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” recorded during Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert in Birmingham. He called the win “bittersweet” following Osbourne’s passing. Yungblud shared that his hotel room had a picture of Osbourne above the fireplace as a “good luck charm.” Sharon Osbourne praised the tribute performance, while Jack Osbourne joked that his father “hated awards shows.” Sabrina Carpenter’s Flight of Fantasy Sabrina Carpenter stole the spotlight with a theatrical take on her hit “Manchild.” Dressed as an airline pilot, she danced through baggage claim and interacted with a series of comedic characters. She even ended the performance by pulling a dove from a top hat. Despite the surreal setup, her performance landed perfectly, showcasing her charm and creativity. Leon Thomas’s Mother Accepts Early Award Leon Thomas won Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Vibes Don’t Lie,” but he was rehearsing for his medley performance. His mother, Jayon Anthony, accepted the award on his behalf. Thomas returned to collect his second award for Best R&B Album, “Mutt,” later in the evening.

Subheadings:

Two New Arrests Made in St. Paul Church Incident
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Monday that federal agents arrested two more people tied to the January 18 protest at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. The suspects are Ian Davis Austin and Jerome Deangelo Richardson. These arrests bring the total number of charged individuals to nine.

Charges Include FACE Act Violations
Authorities charged the other protesters with conspiring to violate constitutional rights and breaking the FACE Act. This 1994 law forbids using force, intimidation, or obstruction to stop someone from practicing their religion. Austin and Richardson will face the same charges.

Details of the Protest
Videos show anti-ICE demonstrators chanting “ICE out” and interrupting a church service. FACE Act violations can result in fines or prison time, depending on the seriousness of the actions.

Media Figures Also Charged
Earlier, the Justice Department arrested former CNN anchor Don Lemon and independent journalist Georgia Fort in connection with the protest. Both face FACE Act charges. Previously, a federal judge rejected the initial attempt to charge Lemon, calling it “frivolous.”

Justice Department Continues Investigation
The Justice Department continues pursuing all nine individuals involved in the disruption at Cities Church. Its goal is to protect religious freedom under federal law.
