Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali is set to make a comeback to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after a four-year break. The 38-year-old cricketer expressed his excitement about joining the league’s “new era” following its expansion to eight teams.
Moeen, who played for Multan Sultans in the 2020 and 2021 editions, praised the PSL for its competitive T20 cricket and world-class talent. Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, he said, “The league has built a reputation for high-quality cricket, with intense competition and incredible players in every team.”
Reflecting on his previous experiences in Pakistan, Moeen highlighted the passionate fans and vibrant cricket culture. “Playing in Pakistan is always incredible; the quality of cricket is outstanding, and the enthusiasm of the crowd motivates players to give their best,” he added.
The former England star, who featured in 68 Tests, 138 ODIs, and 92 T20Is, also participated in England’s historic 2022 Test series in Pakistan. He expressed his eagerness to create new memories in the upcoming PSL season, saying, “Ready for another special experience, Insha’Allah!”
Moeen’s return comes shortly after ex-South African captain Faf du Plessis withdrew from the IPL to join the upcoming PSL season, reflecting the growing appeal of Pakistan’s marquee T20 tournament.
