ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi met with his Chinese colleague Qi Yanjun, providing him with an update on the status of the investigation into the terror assault in Dasu that targeted Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan.
Naqvi stated, “Foolproof arrangements have been made for the security of Chinese citizens,” during a meeting with the Chinese minister at China’s UN office in New York, USA.
Days after Islamabad authorized Operation Azm-e-Istehkam in response to a surge in terror attacks as “a collective multidimensional operation and national vision of the entire state system,” the two ministers would meet.
During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong earlier this month, Naqvi also promised to provide Chinese citizens working on various projects with failsafe protection.
Yanjun expressed satisfaction with the case’s ongoing investigation after today’s briefing, reiterating that Pakistani institutions handled the situation with diligence and professionalism.
However, the Chinese minister also invited Naqvi to the Global Security Forum in September of this year, an invitation that the interior minister accepted.
