Eight days before Scotland takes on Germany as hosts in the opening match of Euro 2024, Lewis Morgan has been summoned back into the team.
After attackers Lyndon Dykes and Ben Doak withdrew due to injury, forward Morgan, 27, of the New York Red Bulls, is the next addition to Steve Clarke’s provisional squad, joining Tommy Conway of Bristol City and Scotland Under-21.
With Morgan in the mix, Clarke will have 28 players to choose from when deciding which 26 will travel to Germany.
In their final Euro warm-up encounter on Friday, the Scots take on Finland at Hampden.
In 2018, Alex McLeish, the predecessor of Clarke, captained Morgan twice as an attacker for Sunderland, St. Mirren, Inter Miami, and the former Celtic.
In 284 club games, he has scored 66 goals, including 26 goals since joining the Bulls in 2022.
Morgan was selected for the Scotland team.
