Following fresh investigation of Sarah Ferguson’s ties to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, Britain’s top anti-monarchy advocacy group has charged the royal family with “abuse of public office for personal gain.”
Republic claimed in a statement on Wednesday that royalty members have long abused their status to evade scrutiny and obtain financial advantages.
The group stated that since laws are frequently crafted to accommodate those in positions of authority and influence, corruption need not be illegal.
They went on to say that Ferguson’s connections to Epstein “raise further questions about financial propriety and access to senior echelons of the British establishment in the context of the ongoing Prince Andrew scandal.”
Graham Smith, the CEO of Republic, scolded the royal family for their actions.
