RAWALPINDI: Four terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan district on Friday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to a statement from the military’s media wing, during the operation, a violent exchange of fire occurred between the troops and the terrorists, resulting in the terrorists’ deaths.
“Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” the statement went on to say.
It also stated that a sanitization operation was underway to kill any more terrorists discovered in the area, and that villagers appreciated the forces and “expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism”.
The development comes only one day after two terrorists, including Shamrooz alias Sheenay, were killed in separate operations carried out by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist strikes in Balochistan and KP provinces in recent months, which has hampered the pre-election phase in several provincial pockets.
