ISLAMABAD: On Monday, a resolution denouncing PTI founder Imran Khan’s alleged abuse of prominent journalist Ijaz Ahmed during court hearings at Adiala Jail was accepted by the National Assembly (NA).
Members of the Parliamentary Reporters Association of Pakistan (PRA) protested Ahmed’s abuse by leaving the National Assembly proceedings at the start of the episode.
The PTI founder used derogatory words against him when he answered a question, according to the veteran journalist, who shared the discussion with NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and other parliamentary figures.
The PRA Election Committee, under the direction of Chairman Tariq Sameer, responded by formally requesting that the speaker allow a walkout during the assembly. In a meeting with the NA speaker, the senior members of the committee reinforced their demands.
