ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly secretariat has released the lower chamber of parliament’s updated party position list, which reflects the positions of all major parties save the contentious reserved seats.
The election body released the list on September 18, which was before Speaker Ayaz Sadiq wrote to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) about the ruling of the Supreme Court on July 12. The list does not include the 15 reserved seats allotted to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), or the five and three seats allotted to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JIU-F).
The event occurs one day after NA Speaker Sadiq described the top court’s decision as “incapable of implementation” un a letter to the ECP following the Election Act of 2017 modifications.
