Before the Charlie Elphicke case hearing, the Dover MP, who just switched parties to Labour, allegedly met Sir Robert Buckland while he served as justice secretary and Lord Chancellor.
According to the news, she allegedly informed Sir Robert that it was unjust that his case was being tried at Southwark Crown Court first following the COVID lockdown and that Lady Justice Whipple was in charge of it.
According to the newspaper, one individual in attendance perceived her remarks as an attempt to have the case transferred to a less prominent court in order to protect her spouse from public scrutiny, while another saw it as an effort to unseat the senior judge.
