ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) directed all pertinent departments to take the required safety measures to lessen the potential impact of flooding and severe weather. This is because monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to enter the country’s upper regions on July 27 and stay there until July 31.
The disaster management body also stated that rains under the influence of this system may cause mudslides, landslides, or falling boulders that might impair roadways in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galiyat, Murree, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In the meantime, isolated, intense showers are predicted to occur in a number of Sindhi and Balochistani cities between July 29 and July 31.According to the NDMA statement, precipitation might result in hill torrents in Sulaiman and the Kirthar Ranges and flash floods in the nearby nullahs. It also stated that hill torrents are also expected to occur in the regions of DG Khan and Rajanpur.
