KARACHI: Following the poor results of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, NED University of Engineering and Technology has altered its admissions requirements for various programs in 2024.
The majority of students were declared failed in the intermediate examinations, and they thereafter submitted significant numbers of scrutiny forms to the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi.
Following notification of the issue, the former caretaker Sindh government created a committee, which discovered irregularities in the examinations.
The committee’s report found that the results of English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics were ‘tampered’. Eight officers from Karachi’s intermediate board have been found liable for the incident.
According to the NED University administration, students with a minimum of 55% in intermediate can also participate in the admissions test. Previously, the minimal mark was 60 percent.
The decision was made in light of the results given by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
