Karachi: Following orders from the Sindh government for the municipality to begin dewatering operations with all available resources, a new bout of monsoon rains has dropped on various districts of Karachi, resulting in muggy conditions, flooded roads, and halted traffic.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted that isolated heavy to moderate showers would fall in a number of places, including Nazimabad, Orangi Town, Federal B Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and Malir.
Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Shah Faisal, and the vicinity of Jinnah International Airport are among the other places that had sporadic rainfall.
This caused traffic to be backed up on a number of citywide thoroughfares.
According to the PMD, Karachi was expected to have thunder and heavy rain on Sunday. The agency also said that the morning’s air humidity was 85%.
