Nicholas Hoult recently opened up about a terrifying car accident he experienced earlier this year. The 36-year-old actor, best known for his upcoming role as Lex Luthor, was driving a Ferrari at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida when the incident occurred. The car flipped during the race, leaving Hoult’s family in shock.
Speaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Hoult described the chilling moment. “I had my first crash at Daytona this year. It was terrifying for my wife and children,” he revealed.
Hoult explained the surreal feeling of experiencing such a situation for the first time. “As I was spinning across the track, all I could think was, ‘Oh, this is what it feels like,'” he shared. He added that the sensation isn’t necessarily pure fear, but a realization of something previously unimaginable. “It’s not necessarily a total fear because you can’t imagine what it feels like. Then when it happens, you go, ‘Oh, that’s it.’ That’s the feeling,” Hoult said.
Despite this frightening experience, Hoult is already focused on his career. He confirmed that production for the upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, will begin in April 2026. Hoult will return as Lex Luthor, sharing the screen with David Corenswet, who will play Clark Kent.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Superman franchise, and Hoult’s candid account of his near-miss adds a personal and human touch to the actor’s public persona.
