ISLAMABAD During the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) Tuesday session, Additional Attorney General (AAG) Munawar Iqbal Duggal informed the court that no decision has been made about the government’s request for clarification over the potential military trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Taking into consideration the appeal of the former prime minister, the high court on September 16 ordered the Ministry of Defence to clarify its position regarding his military court trial at the subsequent hearing on September 24 (today). The ministry had requested an extension of time for this hearing.
The PTI founder has filed a petition to halt the military tribunals in the May 9 case, which involved the vandalism of military installations after he was arrested in 2023 for fraud.
