Dominic Solanke of Tottenham is selected in Carsley’s current 25-man squad for the Nations League against Greece and Finland, which he announced on Thursday. This is the first time Solanke has been a member of the squad in seven years.
From the 26-man England roster from last month—Carsley’s first as interim manager after Gareth Southgate’s departure—there are four alterations.
Carsley stated, “I wanted to make sure it seems new, that it’s an accomplishment when you receive that email or WhatsApp stating that you’ve been called up, since it shouldn’t be something that is taken for granted.
The fact that it is more than just a copy and paste, in my opinion, is crucial. I want them to believe that they deserve to be a member of the squad.
Eberechi Eze, Harry Maguire, Tino Livramento, and Jarrod Bowen have been left out of Carsley’s last team, which scored triumphs over the Republic of Ireland and Finland in September.
