Asad Qaiser, the head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), suggested that the PPP file a resolution of no-confidence against the government, but Defense Minister Khawaja Asif rejected his idea on Monday, advising him to concentrate on reforming his own party first.
As tensions between the PPP and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) increase, Qaiser earlier in the day advised the PPP halt “friendly fire” and introduce a no-confidence vote in the National Assembly, promising PTI’s full support.
“We will support a no-confidence [motion] if they [the PPP’s leadership] are serious,” Qaiser stated.
