The northern lights were visible across the United Kingdom for a second night, creating a stunning natural display.
This happened after a strong solar eruption earlier this week, called a Coronal Mass Ejection, which sent a wave of solar energy toward Earth. On Tuesday night, another solar storm hit, rated 4 out of 5 in intensity.
Northern Lights Light Up the UK for Second Night
Clouds and rain blocked the view for some areas, but people in southern England were lucky to see the aurora. Weather Watchers shared many striking photos of the colorful sky.
The solar storm has now weakened, and forecasts from the Met Office suggest no further northern lights in the next few days.
If you’ve captured photos of the northern lights or other interesting weather events, you can share them through the Weather Watchers program.
