KARACHI: Following a round of negotiations with the Dairy Farmers Association, Commissioner Karachi announced the new milk price on Thursday, according to News.
The retail price of milk has been set at Rs 220 per litre, following a hike of Rs 20 per liter, per a notification released here. The fixed prices for milk are Rs 205 for wholesale buyers and Rs 195 for dairy farmers per litre.
It is important to note that dairy farmers are requesting price increases for their goods in spite of the drop in petroleum costs.
The agreement between dairy producers and Commissioner Karachi, a copy of which is accessible with News, resulted in a price increase.
The agreement states that dairy farmers will sell milk at the official price, and that violation will result in consequences.
The milk vendors won’t ask for another raise until December 31. It will be mandatory for the dairy farmer to show all levels of buy and sale rates. The agreement stated that dairy farms will continue to provide retailers with milk of a certain grade.
