Recent gas discoveries have allowed Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Mari Petroleum Company Limited to take significant steps in alleviating Pakistan’s energy crisis.
Gas reserves were discovered on June 29 in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, at a depth of about 2,000 meters by OGDCL and SIFC working together. An important step has been taken in the nation’s attempts to increase domestic energy generation with this discovery.
Renowned for its 70% exploration success rate, Mari Petroleum Company Limited has also announced two major discoveries in its East Block in quick succession. The business has also discovered a significant amount of gas in the Chagai district.
